Stryper publicará su nuevo disco de estudio, Throne Of Thorns, el 25 de septiembre a través de Frontiers Music Srl. Será el decimoctavo álbum de su carrera. Para presentarlo han estrenado el tema que titula este lanzamiento a través de un videoclip.
El batería Robert Sweet declara: “Pronto saldrá a la venta nuestro nuevo disco de Stryper, ¿os lo podéis creer? ¡Es nuestro álbum número 18! Estoy convencido de que a todos os va a encantar. Michael ha trabajado muy duro componiendo estas canciones y dando forma al conjunto. Oz, Perry y yo también nos hemos esforzado mucho para crear lo que, en mi opinión, es nuestro mejor disco hasta la fecha. Estoy seguro de que, en cuanto lo escuchéis, estaréis de acuerdo. Gracias a todos por vuestra increíble fidelidad y por seguir apoyando lo que hacemos”.
En cuanto al nuevo single homónimo, Michael Sweet comenta: “‘Throne of Thorns’ transmite un mensaje muy potente. Cristo está en el trono y hemos sido redimidos gracias a la corona de espinas que Él soportó. Esta canción es una representación perfecta de nuestros 43 años, de quiénes fuimos y de quiénes somos. Potente pero melódica, clásica pero moderna, ¡y 100 % Stryper!”
El bajista Perry Richardson añade: “La mejor música no nace de la comodidad. Nace de vivir, de luchar, de crecer y de negarse a rendirse. Espero que estas canciones te lleguen justo cuando más las necesites”. Y el guitarrista Oz Fox concluye: “Estoy muy contento con el resultado final de este disco y con la pasión que se ha puesto en él. Michael sigue dedicándose en cuerpo y alma a la música y al mensaje; Robert aporta la fuerza y la energía que siempre han sido el alma de Stryper; la maestría musical, el talento vocal y la dedicación de Perry son insuperables, y me siento agradecido de poder compartir este viaje con todos ellos”.
