Primus han decidido realizar un homenaje especial a Rush. Para ello interpretarán el disco A Farewell To Kings de forma íntegra en una gira que han denominado ‘A Tribute To Kings’. Aparte del disco de Rush, también tocarán canciones propias.
Será una gira por Norteamérica en la que estarán acompañados por Wolfmother en todas las fechas. También se sumarán en diferentes conciertos The Sword y Battles.
«Hace poco más de un año, Ler Lalonde y yo comenzamos a plantear la idea de que Primus realizara una serie de espectáculos con un icónico álbum de Rush de nuestra juventud», dice el líder de la banda Les Claypool. «Teniendo en cuenta que ‘A Farewell To Kings’ fue el primer disco Rush que escuché, y que contiene mi canción de Rush favorita de todos los tiempos, ‘Cygnus X1’, la elección se redujo rápidamente. Hace años había hecho algo similar con Colonel Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade cuando interpretamos ‘Animals’ de Pink Floyd en su totalidad. Fue una cantidad de trabajo increíble, pero terminó siendo uno de los esfuerzos en vivo más agradables que he hecho. La gira ‘Primus: A Tribute To Kings’, originalmente estaba programada para realizarse en el otoño de 2019, pero cuando nos pidieron que teloneáramos a Slayer en su ‘Final Campaign’, se pospuso la gira ‘Tribute To Kings’”.
