El fallecimiento del batería Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot) ha dejado un vacío enorme en el mundo del rock y el heavy metal. No solo por su extraordinaria aportación musical, sino también por su gran lado humano. Un carácter que ha mantenido incluso en una dura lucha de un año y cuatro meses en la que ha plantado cara a la enfermedad con una enorme entereza.
La figura de Banali siempre irá indisolublemente ligada a Quiet Riot, la banda con la que hizo historia desde que en 1983 revolucionaran el heavy metal americano con el éxito de Metal Health. Desde entonces Banali fue el gran estandarte de la banda hasta su fallecimiento.
Otro de los grupos que siempre irá indisolublemente unido a Banali es W.A.S.P. El emotivo reconocimiento de su líder, Blackie Lawless, demuestra la importancia vital del batería en grandes capítulos como The Headless Children (1989) o The Crimson Idol (1992), aunque su sello quedó plasmado en más discos.
